At All Japan's Kobe Sanbo Hall show on the 30th, he was fighting Kenzo Suzuki. Afterwards, he was vomiting backstage and it was said that the vomiting was black. He collapsed and was taken to Kobe University hospital for emergency surgery. A craniotomy was done and he had a stroke. He was placed on a ventilator to assist in breathing.
He has now been taken off the ventilator and is showing signs of respond to external commands (touch).

Latest update:
- Discussions between TARU & Hirai's family over some sort of settlement may be ongoing.
- Hirai is still reportedly unconscious. (The brain hemorrhaging.)
- The Voodoo Murderers are disbanded as a faction. What it means for Minoru (Tanaka), KONO, & MAZADA in All Japan is up in the air. They were indefinitely suspended because they supposedly were in the waiting room when TARU's assault on Hirai happened.
- Keiji Mutoh will address the public at All Japan's June 12th Korakuen Hall show in Tokyo to address the matter at hand.

The newspapers are proverbially pouring gasoline on the fire.
Tokyo Sports report claims that Voodoo Murderers got the building in Kobe before the main staff did and that TARU allegedly summoned the gaijin wrestlers out of the room before closing the door, leaving the Japanese members in the room. The paper claims that TARU beat up Hirai in front of the other members.
