headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20140219-00000060-mai-sociAccording to a report on Wednesday, a Morioka district court judge issued a ruling in favor of a county suing The Great Sasuke for not allegedly paying 2.76 million yen ($27,000) in debt/investigation costs from 2005 related to Michinoku Pro affairs. As a result, authorities are trying to seize assets. The back story is that authorities demanded Sasuke pay back taxpayer money he spent riding Shinkansen trains to go to Michinoku Pro shows. Politicians are allowed to spend a certain amount of money per month for policy research. Sasuke decided to spend tax money on riding trains. His excuse? He was simply studying passenger habits... while going to wrestling shows. Iwate authorities went after Sasuke and demanded he pay back what he spent in taxpayer funds. Sasuke reportedly didn't answer any of the requests. Last December, Sasuke was allegedly supposed to show up in court for a hearing on the matter and no-showed that. The no-show supposedly was for both oral & written arguments on the matter. The no-show meant a default judgment. With no response issued, a letter was reportedly sent to Sasuke in January to pay up 2.76 million yen. No response. Now the authorities are looking to seize the assets, but are allegedly unsure if they will be able to recover the money that is owed in full.
