In case anyone hasn't heard, it's being reported on PWInsider that Dr. Death Steve Williams is being forced to retire due to his battle with cancer. It seems that the chemotherapy hasn't stopped the cancer, which has spread throughout his throat. Apparently they're going to remove Doc's voicebox to effectively remove the cancer from his body. The chemo has Williams' weight down to 214 lbs, which is the lightest he's been since jr. high - according to Bill Watts at least.
That's definitely a shame. You never want to see anybody suffer like that...and to have to lose his voicebox must be unreal. I can't even imagine.
All the best to Dr. Death. Here's hoping for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.

My thoughts will definitely be with the Doc. Here's hoping he's got at least one good fight left in him.

geez - that's terrible news! I grew up watching Steve Williams in the old Mid-South shows and Bill Watts' UWF(I was born and raised in Oklahoma). I went to the live shows in Oklahoma City lots of times. I also just lost my mother-in-law, who was a SAINT, to Cancer in June... Here's to you Doc, and prayers to you and your family for a speedy recovery!
