As we all know, leader of the free world with fight for Democracy wherever people are living in fear and repression. (not Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan, but nevermind that)
The people of Palestine have spoken and democratically elected Hamas to run their country.
I look forward to Bush working with the democratically elected leaders of Palestine to ensure a stable future for the region.
Do you?

If the Palestinians want to choose Hamas, well that's their right. I'm sure they're well aware of the consequences.

Which are that if America doesnt aprove of your ideology and you dont have any oil you can expect your country to be ilegally undermined.
So, the Americans who are so beloved of bringing democracy to the Middle East only agree with democracy when the people who win are friendly towards America, somewhat shitting upon the entire notion of democracy, no?
The Hamas may all be murdering psychotics, but isn't everyone, for f**k's sake?

Your priorities are really f**ked up. I used to be annoyed by it but now I just pity someone who's so warped.

My priorites are f**ked up?
How is it warped to point out the ridiculas hypocrisy of a nation that has the gaul to invade a country claiming to bring democracy to it (after changing their story from WMD's) and then crap in the very face of that concept because it doesnt like the democratic choices a country has made?

"Your priorities are really f**ked up."
I wasn't aware he *had* any priorities at all.
Though the concept that any country should give a toss about who the Americans think should and should not be in charge of a country that doesn't belong to them is bullshit, yes, I'll give Shibuya that because it's a point a far more rational person would be able to argue successfully with ease. The American crusade to be the world's police force is kind of like a cocaine dealer telling people "don't use heroin, it f*cks with your brain man".
Having said that, Hamas is a joke as far as the hope for a stable middle east goes, potential American interference or not. When the relationship between Pakistan and India has actually become one to look up to, it's a strange world indeed. Near the turn of the century they looked like plans to nuke each other off the earth were in full swing and now things are about as good as they've probably been between the two since the partition.

So you agree then? Welcome to the dark side

I agree that Palestine is a soverign country that has the right to elect any government they choose, yes. Though I don't see this as a move towards peace of course (which to be honest in our modern world seems more like a dream than a potential reality). And frankly I doubt the USA had any plans to blow Hamas off the map, it's not like they haven't had opportunities and excuses to do so for pretty much my entire life. I wouldn't lose much sleep over that.
